How to Program Ford Key Fobs

If you’ve recently bought a new Ford in the Munster area, or picked up a replacement car key for your vehicle, you might be wondering how to program the Ford key fob. It’s easier than you might think! There are a few steps you need to follow to set up the Ford key fob so it can remotely lock and unlock your vehicle. The service team at Webb Ford, Inc. has put together a guide detailing everything you need to know about Ford key fob programming, including disabling your key fob if necessary.

Step-by-Step Programming Instructions

1. Open the driver’s-side door, but make sure all the other doors are closed. Press the UNLOCK button on the driver’s door.
2. Flip the ignition back and forth from OFF to RUN a total of 8 times within 10 seconds. Make sure the 8th time ends on RUN. When you enter programming mode, the door locks will lock and unlock. (Note: If the doors don’t cycle, turn the key faster. Your car may not have keyless entry if you still can’t get the door locks to cycle.)
3. Press any key on your Ford remote key fob to program it, within 8 seconds. Your door locks will cycle again to confirm that the keyless entry configuration has been successful.
4. If you have another key fob you want to program as well, just repeat step 3 with as many other key fobs as you want.
5. Finish up the process by turning the ignition to OFF, and the locks will cycle one more time. You’re good to go!

How to Turn Off Ford MyKey

• Start your vehicle and allow your computer and screen to turn on.
• Using your steering wheel-mounted controls, press the left arrow button to access the main menu.
• From the main menu, press “Settings” after selecting “OK.”
• Once you’re at the “Settings” screen, scroll until you find the “MyKey” option, then press “OK.”
• Under “MyKey,” find the option that says “Clear MyKey.”
• After selecting “Clear MyKey,” press and hold “OK” until you get the “All MyKeys Cleared” message on the screen.
